The application form has to be sent, together with all other documents, by post to our address (see first page of the form).
APPLICATION DEADLINES
Applications for each winter semester should reach us by 15 July at the latest.
For each summer semester, the deadline is 15 January.
PROFICIENCY IN GERMAN
The classes at the University of Wuerzburg are held in German. Please enclose with your application a certificate showing that you have passed an examination at least with level A 2 of the Goethe Institute.
Approved German language certificates equivalent to a certificate of the Goethe Institute can be found on our website as well.

For an enrolment at the University of Wuerzburg you need to have passed the DSH-examination. The University offers this examination in April (prior to the summer term) and in October (prior to the winter semester). In order to get knowledge of the German language at DSH-level, you have the opportunity to take part in the four-week preparatory course of the University's "Zentrum fuer Sprachen" in March or in September.
PLANNING THE COSTS
The semester fee at the University of Wuerzburg is about 590 which you have to pay each semester.
Moreover, you have to plan about 650 for: renting an apartment, health insurance, study materials, cost of living, etc.

Osnabrueck University is member of uni-assist, Application
Services for International Students. Numerous German universities have their
international applications pre-checked by uni-assist.
Certain applications are therefore not sent to Osnabrueck University, but instead to uni-assist. For all study programs at Osnabrueck University German language proficiency is required (except for the Master's Program in Cognitive Science).
We would like to point out that Osnabrueck University does not offer preparatory German language courses. This means, that at the time of application the German language requirements must already be fulfilled.
Generally applicants apply with the German language certificate DSH ("Deutsche Sprachpruefung fuer den Hochschulzugang") or TestDaF ("Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache"). If they do not hold such a certificate, they must submit proof of the "Goethe-certificate B2" from the Goethe Institute (alternatively proof that 1200 hours of German lessons have been completed at advanced level) with their application.
At Osnabrueck University the "Goethe-certificate B2" is then the minimum requirement for admission to the DSH exam which can be taken in September.
In case you hold another German language certificate at advanced level, please see the information in the attached files or get in touch with us.
We recommend that applicants pass the TestDaF exam in their home country,
before applying. Please see www.testdaf.de for further information.
Please also note that for a particular batch of subjects, certain (foreign language) requirements are a pre-condition. Please refer to the admission requirements for the desired course of study: www.uni-osnabrueck.de/997.html or in the attached files.
Osnabrueck University charges 500,- EUR tuition fees per semester besides
the semester fees of currently 263.71 EUR in conjunction with German law.
