Motivation Letter
My name is XXXXX. I have got Bachelor's degree of Physics in UUUUUU. Now I have got the admission of Master of Science program in the University of CCCCCCC with AAAAA scholarship for one academic year. The following academic year will be financed via teaching assistant-ship.
Reasons for me to study in Germany
The major reason for me to study in Germany is the world-leading research groups in German universities. I specialized in theoretical physics as an undergraduate. I am quite enjoyed in it and plan to do research work during the next five years. So first, I need to attend a Master program to be better prepared for this plan. After considering the courses, professors and research opportunities, I chose the Master program provided by University of CCCCCCC to continue my study. Courses provided by this program fit my own study plan well. All of my academic interests are included in the research directions of the theoretical physics group in this university. To fulfill my plan in the next five years, I will also apply for a PhD program in German or U.S. universities when the Master program is completed. I believe that after two years' study in the University of CCCCCCC I will be fully prepared to conduct research activities in various fields of physics.
Another reason for me to study in Germany is the glorious history of physics here. Numerous names of German physicists mentioned in the textbook draw my attention from the beginning of my study in physics. I think it is the unique Germanic cultures that nourished the flourishing of physics during the 20th century. Studying here, I will benefit from the traditional academic atmosphere of free discussion and rigorous reasoning.
Plan for my study in Germany
Professional study
According to the design of the Master program by the university, the first year of my study (first and second semester) will be focused on several advanced courses, which are of great help to my research in the future. The second year of the Master program (third and fourth semester) is designed for the thesis of the Master’s degree. The completion of this thesis will be the opening section of my theoretical research in condensed matter physics. I consider it invaluable for me.
Language course
The Master of Science program in university of CCCCCCC is an international program, so it can be completed in an English environment. However, knowledge of German language is necessary for me to live in CCCCCCC. There is a supplementary German course contained in the AAAAAAAA scholarship mentioned earlier. I will improve my German by regular attendance of this course.
Study in a brand new cultural environment will be great experience for me. I have enough confidence to overcome the unforeseeable difficulties. With joy and determination, I will try my best to complete the Master of Science program in the University of CCCCCCC. |
