德国 phd 申请求助

I am now circulating your application material among senior members of my little team, and expect to be able to give you a definitive answer next week (if you have not heard from me by Thursday next week, please drop me a short reminder note!).

For practical purposes, it would indeed be easiest to enroll you here on a post-doc 50% position for 6 months (trial period, with the intention to prolong this 50% position already after 4-5 months to a 12 months period, or to switch it to a PhD student position). If we make a formal job offer, I probably can complement the meagre salary with free accommodation in an apartment that I have rented for foreign scientists and students in my lab.

In the meantime, please, enquire very carefully with the German embassy about all the necessary visa formalities so that you know exactly what has to be done. Keeping these visa formalities in mind, by when exactly could you come to Germany at the very earliest?

非常好的机会。

但你申请phd，怎么教授先给你一个 post-doc的适用职位呢？不过，钱是没差的。先拿一年半职（一般读博都是半职），正式接受后，可拿全职带免费的公寓，还没听过这么好的事呢。

从信里可以看出，你的教授是个很和气态度也很开明的人。最后交待得也特别仔细。虽然申请留学的都知道怎么回事。

先试用再给接收，是有教授这样做的。只不过，一般教授是，试用期间不给或给1/4，再接受就给半职，不好的话，你如果自费读他也没有意见。所以，你怎么都不亏。

最后一个，要看教授的邀请函上怎么写的。如果是接受读phd，那就是访问学者签证。但你目前好像又不完全是，有个试用期，如果教授给你工作合同的话，大概就要工作签证吧。

Thanks for the reminder.
In principle, I am happy to offer you a 50% post-doc position for an initial trial period of 6 months (prolongation depending on mutual satisfaction).
In that case, you'd  only have to register for a PhD student position with the University of Kiel and top switch to acorresponding PhD student position after you have arrived, and provided that you are eligible.

The big question now is timing: How soon would you have an appropriate visum in hand that would allow you to get started on such a position, AND that could be prolonged without major problems if your trial period works out to our mutual satisfaction?
For example, is it realistic that you could start here in Luebeck on Oct 1, 2009?
What have you been able to fin out by contacting the Germany Embassy?
