The inquiry about visa application

Dear Sir or Madam:

My name is xxx xxx. xxx is my family name. My nationality is Chinese, and my passport No. is Gxxxxxxxx.
I have submitted my visa application material on Jan. 14th, 2008. My courses will start on Mar. 10th in [xxx University], and the airline ticket on Mar. 1st had been booked. It's only half a month before the time I will leave. I would like to be informed whether my application had been approved, and when I was permitted to enter Germany?
I am looking forward to your early reply.
