International Symposium
Polymer Synthesis:The Key to Functional Materials
on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Professor Klaus Müllen
The Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz has paved the way for important incentives and fundamental concepts of chemistry, physics and application of novel macromolecular materials. The idea of creating synthetic structures which open the scope of supramolecular architectures and give way to functional materials has initiated a broad variety of research dealing with photochemistry, photophysics, molecular recognition phenomena, catalysis and biomimetics.
The scientific symposium, which takes places on 1 and 2 March 2007 in Mainz, is to demonstrate what has been attained in this field so far. New trends will be presented as well as developments from pure academics to materials engineering and application. During the symposium twenty renowned national and international researchers will be presenting invited lectures. The meeting aims at giving this fascinating area of research a new stimulus for further fruitful developments.
Invited Lectures:
Prof. Hans-Jürgen Adler, Prof. Markus Antonietti, Prof. Peter Bäuerle, Prof. Uwe Bunz, Prof. Frans DeSchryver, Prof. Gerhard Fink, Prof. Richard Friend, Prof. Yves Geerts, Prof. Harm-Anton Klok, Prof. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski, Prof. Herbert Meier, Prof. Bert Meijer, Prof. Jürgen Rabe, Dr. Paolo Samori, Prof. Ullrich Scherf, Prof. Manfred Schmidt, Prof. Laren Tolbert, Prof. Mark Watson, Prof. Gerhard Wegner |
