You have expressed interest in studying at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (JGU). You will find all of the necessary details for an application on the following Internet sites. Please download the given pages and carefully read the information. You will find a short summary in this email as well.
Should you not be able to download the various application forms and information from the internet, please send us an email (subject: ZUL-M) asking for the paper version of the application forms. Please provide us with a postal address where you can be reached within the next few months.
Applications for translators/interpreters (and only those) should be sent to the following address:

APPLICATION DATES:
restricted majors:
Deadline for the winter semester: July 15
Deadline for the summer semester: January 15
non-restricted majors:
application date for the winter semester: September 01
application date for the summer semester: March 01
(relevant is not the postmark, but the arrival date at the university). Incomplete applications or applications with incomplete application forms will not be processed.
DOCUMENTS FOR VALIDATION/ APPLICATION
always officially notarized copies
no translation is required for certificates issued in English, French or German
CERTIFICATION OF VALIDATION
The certification of validation is only valid in connection with the certificates that are listed on the certification of validation. If you want to submit new certificates which may change your admission qualification a new validation certificate will be required.
SCHOOL:
Notarized copy of school leaving certificate in the original language with an overview of subjects and grades
Notarized copy of a translation into English or German for the above certificate
If necessary, notarized copies of certificates from the Studienkolleg exam (Feststellungspruefung) and extension exam (Erweiterungspruefung)
UNIVERSITY STUDIES
Notarized copies of university entrance examination in the original and translation into German or English
Notarized copies of university certificates and/or matriculation certificates in the original language indicating the academic standing
Notarized copies of German or English translations of university certificates and/or matriculation certificates
Notarized copies of degree certificates (e.g. Bachelor's, Master's) in the original language and translation into English or German.
