Well, it's very different between Chinese biotechnology and German biotechnology. In China, biotechnology is mainly science. The syllabus is very similar to the biology. But here, Biotechnology is an engineering major. Many chemical engineering and mechanical engineering courses are compulsory. They don't make much research on biology itself. They care only that how to grow bacteria better and produce more target proteins with cheaper medium. If you graduate in chinese biotechnology and come here studying biotechnology, you may be very frustrated because you have to study so much advanced mathematik and thermodynamics, mechanics, machinary, chemical engineering... courses. I am an example.
Sorry, I'm in university so I can't write chinese. |
